Shortly before midnight, deputies from the sheriff's office were called to investigate a reported shooting in the 45000 block of Breezy Lane in Hollywood, where they found a person suffering from a gunshot wound in the area.
Deputies were able to render aid at the scene until the shooting victim was airlifted by Maryland State Police to an area hospital for treatment of what are believed to a be non-life-threatening injury.
No other injuries were reported.
Following the shooting, a spokesperson from the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office said that the suspects fled in a vehicle, leading to a pursuit that continued into Charles County, when the car became disabled in the area of Route 301 and Mitchell Road.
One person was apprehended at the scene, and three others were taken into custody after attempting to flee on foot.More information is expected to be released.
The investigation is ongoing.
